Assistance to expelled Roma
The project goal is to support the process of integration / reintegration of Roma who have returned on the basis of readmission agreements and Roma displaced from Kosovo, while staying in one of the municipalities in Vojvodina, through the legal, economic, educational assistance and help in improving housing conditions.
It is the third cycle of the project entitled "Help for the expelled Roma" that is implemented in the Roma Resource Centre of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) from Novi Sad.
- In the framework of legal aid users are is provided with legal advice and information, preparation and filing of various legal forms, obtaining documents and field visits by lawyers.
- Economic aid includes training for active job seeking and writing business plans, the three-month vocational courses, tools, and award grants for starting small business .
- In order to achieve successful integration of children into the educational system of Serbia, the provided educational assistance for school includes supplemental classes and purchase of school supplies and textbooks.
- Help to improve housing conditions is awarded for the rehabilitation and upgrading of housing, the introduction of electricity, water and sanitation, etc.
The project, which will run until February 2013, funded by German donors: Hoffnung für Osteuropa-Diakonie Württemberg, Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg and Brot für die Welt.
