EHO was founded in 1993 on the initiative of World Council of Churches in order to respond to the needs of vulnerable population of Vojvodina in an organized and efficient way, through humanitarian aid - nourishment, medicines, hygienic items, fuelwood, etc.  This assistance, provided through EHO network, was offered to all citizens of Vojvodina who were in the state of need, regardless of their religious and national background.

During these 20 years of work, EHO has developed itself into an organization that comprehensively supports vulnerable groups through various social services. Today, our beneficiaries have well-known EHO programs at disposal - such as Roma Resource Center, Resource Center for People with Disabilities, Sheleter for Childern Living and/or Working on Streets, Diaconal Center with Daycare Center for Elderly, Home Care for Elderly, Cancer-Info...

EHO, today, after 20 years of work and learning, has a status of a leader CSO in Vojvodina. One of the strengths of our organization is  readines to react professionally in any given moment to the needs of vulnerable groups. We do not work for them, but we work with them. This is why EHO has made it's place in this society.

"EHO was empowering and still is strengthening not only members of vulnerable groups, but also relevant institutions and associations who are in charge for the realization of rightsof the same, because it adheres to the Christianconviction that all people are equal and that equality is feasible in any given society." (Vladislav Ivičiak, Director of Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization)
