Construction of housing units in Lazarevac
Within the project “Owner Driven House Rehabilitation Of Houses For Flood Affected Vulnerable People In Serbia” (which is a part of the EHO flood in 2014), in May 2015 in Belgrade was signed a Protocol on cooperation and common realization of (sub)project „Relocation of 16 socially vulnerable families who lost their accommodation during the floods in Lazarevac”. Cooperation protocol signatories are Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization from Novi Sad, City of Belgrade and municipality of Lazarevac.
After three attempts to open construction site prevented by hostile neighborhood in 2015 and indifference and inaction of responsible institutions of Lazarevac, negotiations with local self-government were continued in May 2016.
New round of negotiations contributed to the re-start of the entire process, leading to the signing of new Cooperation agreement (September 2016), and construction works of four housing modules with 16 housing units. ”. Cooperation protocol signatories are Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization from Novi Sad, , City of Belgrade and municipality of Lazarevac.
In October 2016 was produced a Preliminary Design and submitted a Request for site conditions. Site conditions were issued on 27 October 2016. Currently ongoing is production of project documentation required for submission of Request for a building permit.
Opening of the site in settlement Šopići (suburb of Lazarevac) is planned for late November / early December 2016.
Completion of works and moving in of families is anticipated for March 2017.
Project donors are Swiss foundation Swiss Solidarity and HEKS-EPER (Switzerland) who is the main project implementer. Local partner of the HEKS-EPER in charge of project realization is the EHO.
