Field migration assistants
During April 2017 EHO shall organize Training for Field Assistants that will be engaged in project component Migration within project ”Improvement of living conditions of Roma and of other marginalized groups, prevention of illegal migrations and supporting reintegration of returnees to Serbia”.
Selection of training participants was made in March 2017 and the Training shall be attended by eight future associates, who would start their field work in early May 2017 on territories of City of Subotica, City of Zrenjanin, City of Kikinda and municipality of Žitište.
Field assistants shall give direct services (information, counseling, support in realization of local rights, urgent aid, and educational-(self)employment-housing support to returnees and other groups with irregular migration risk from and in their work they will directly cooperate with municipal migration councils and other relevant local organs of state institutions.
Thus, EHO shall continue its work in development of further cooperation with state organs/institutions, by networking and planning common activities aimed at service quality improvement for readmission agreement returnees and other groups with irregular migration risk on the local level (returnee reintegration services and secondary migration prevention).
In early 2016, the consortium – EHO (Serbia) and HEKS-EPER (Switzerland) was approved with a three-year (2016-2018) project - ”Improvement of living conditions of Roma and of other marginalized groups, prevention of illegal migrations and supporting reintegration of returnees to Serbia” worth 1,9 mill CHF, financed by the SSM - State Secretariat for Migration, Switzerland, SDC - Swiss agency for development and cooperation, Switzerland, HEKS-EPER, Switzerland and local self-government units in Serbia. The Swiss partners participate with 50% support, while EHO provides the remaining 50% from budgets of participating local self-government units in Serbia and other international funding sources.
