Peer Reviews and Network of Experts on Social Inclusion PDF Print E-mail
The Peer Review in Social Protection and Social Inclusion and Assessment in Social Inclusion sub-programmes were established by the European Commission to support the Open Method of Coordination.  One of our main concerns is to ensure that the valuable output produced by this Programme is more widely disseminated and that it reaches the people and organisations active in the area of social inclusion as well as those who are affected by the policy measures implemented.

°    The Peer Review seminars encourage the dissemination of good practice by opening up the experience of the host country in a particular policy area to critical assessment by peer countries. This can serve as a useful means of helping Member States to design and implement more effective policies and of contributing to dialogue with stakeholders. Peer Reviews in Social Inclusion address themes such as child poverty, homelessness, financial exclusion, integration of ethnic minorities and immigrants, active inclusion as well as good governance. Social Protection Peer Reviews focus on pensions, health and long-term care and the accessibility of services.
°    The Network of Independent Experts on Social Inclusion provides regular accounts of recent policy developments and key trends deemed relevant in the context of the EU policy coordination process on social inclusion. They also provide an independent assessment of the “social inclusion strand” of the National Strategy Report on Social Protection and Social Inclusion.
°    All reports and papers produced under the two sub-programmes are freely available at http://www.peer-review-social-inclusion.eu/ .
