OF LOCAL FIELD ASSOCIATES
FOR WORK ON IMPLEMENTATION OF ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE "WATER ACCESS" INTERVENTION
IN 11 SUBSTANDARD SETTLEMENTS IN 8 LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENTS

Which is realized within the project "REDUCING ADDIDTIONAL VULNERABILITY OF ROMA FAMILIES AND OTHER VULNERABLE GROUPS CAUSED BY THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC IN 8 LOCAL SELF-GOVERMENTS" 

Position: Local field assistant / ca to work with the community to which it provides access to water

Status:   Contract of Work   

Period duration Project: until 31.12.2021. 

Engagement period: if necessary, depending on the number of families at the project locations from 1 to 5 months

Job description / engagement goal:
As part of the activities that will provide access to drinking water to families living in 11 substandard settlements in the municipalities of Kanjiža, Kovin, Alibunar, Zrenjanin, Stara Pazova, Smederevska Palanka, Topola and Valjevo, work with end users and local institutions will be directly on terrain or facilities that will be connected to the water supply network.  

In this regard, EHO will hire 12 Local Field Associates according to the following schedule:

Engaged local field associates are expected to provide services in the implementation of project activities within the project intervention (3) access to water in the part related to work with local communities living in the listed 11 substandard settlements in 8 local governments. Collaborators will be hired as needed during the project implementation period and payment is made based on the submitted report on data collected, number of supported families at project sites and / or number of hours spent in the field and in organizing community meetings. 

Each associate is expected to: 
• Know well the community living in the location where the activities take place;
• Has access to every facility that is connected to the water supply network or family that is the end user;
• Enjoys the trust of the Roma and non-Roma community in the settlement and has good communication with the families who are the final beneficiaries of the project;
• Cooperates with employees in local institutions and enjoys their trust;
• Actively participates in the implementation of project activities at the request of the Project Coordinator;
• Works in a team with the Project Coordinator and other team members in order to efficiently and timely implement the project and exchange data, information and improve work;
• Visits the field with project associates, collects data from the field, fills in questionnaires, distributes notices, informs families, organizes meetings and other events organized within the Project;
• Provides the necessary support to project coordinators during monitoring and evaluation of project activities;
• timely submits reports on the achieved results as a precondition for the payment of fees;
• If they are employees of a state institution, external associates must provide confirmation from the employer that they can work on project activities;

Required qualifications and desirable experience:
• At least secondary education;
• Experience in working with the Roma community (coordinator for Roma issues, pedagogical assistant, Roma activist) or managing the community at the village / settlement level (representative of the local community for settlements inhabited by other non-Roma families who are final beneficiaries of the Project) ;
• Knowledge of the context of the Roma community;
• Knows how to work on a computer; Expected skills and abilities: 
• Ability to work in a team and under stress;
• Communication and organizational skills;
• Eligible to come from a community or live in a municipality and / or settlement supported through this Project;

Working environment and working conditions:
• Field work in the settlement and attending monthly meetings with the community and the project team; 
• Availability at the invitation of the Project Coordinator to perform the service for which he is engaged; 
• Overtime and weekend work if necessary.
