On June 5, 2026, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) organized a performance of the monodrama “Sama” on the theater stage of the MASUKA Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Municipality of Velika Plana and the MASUKA Cultural Center, within the EHO project “Social Inclusion for a Dignified Life of Roma and Other Vulnerable Persons in Serbia 2023–2026”,

Support for the creation and performance of the play is part of project activities aimed at raising awareness about discrimination, anti-Gypsyism and the importance of social inclusion of Roma and other socially vulnerable persons. Through art as a universal language, the play encourages understanding, empathy and dialogue about the challenges that many people face every day.

The first performance of the play in Velika Plana gathered more than 150 spectators who rewarded the strong and emotional performance with long-lasting applause.

The monodrama "Sama", based on the text by Ružica Vasić, directed by Branka Bešević Gajić and performed by Aleksandra Milojković Novikova, follows the life of an educated Roma woman who faces prejudice, discrimination and social exclusion. In an authentic way, it raises questions of dignity, equal opportunities and the right of every person to be accepted regardless of their origin.

After a successful premiere in Novi Sad in 2024, the play continues to tour the cities and municipalities partnering in the project. The performance in Velika Plana once again showed that art can be a powerful driver of social change, encouraging understanding, solidarity and mutual respect.

The project "Social Inclusion for a Dignified Life of Roma and Other Vulnerable Persons in Serbia 2023–2026" is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) with the support of the Swiss organization HEKS/EPER (Swiss Church Aid).
