Field of intervention "Access to water"

The project "Reduction of additional vulnerability of Roma and other marginalized groups, caused by COVID 19 pandemic in 18 local self government (LSGs)" is being realized by the General Secretariat represented by the SIPRU, Belgrade with sub-implementation partners: Center for Interactive Pedagogy and the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization from Novi Sad. These activities are part of the German Development Cooperation Program "Inclusion of Roma and Other Marginalized Groups in Serbia", implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue.

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization is a sub-implementation partner in one of the four intervention fields "access to water" and our task is to coordinate the implementation of activities in seven local governments: Kanjiža, Alibunar, Zenjanin, Kovin, Stara Pazova, Smederevska Palanka and Valjevo.

Thanks to the construction and / or reconstruction of water supply networks and individual connections provided through the project, families from 16 substandard settlements shall have drinking water in their households. By the end of 2021, a total of 217 households were connected and connected to the water supply system.

Project activities in order to provide access to drinking water will continue in the second half of 2022.
