Prevention of malignant diseases among women - workshops for improving the psychophysical health of women in Vojvodina
A three-year project entitled: "Prevention through early detection of malignant diseases among women from rural areas of Vojvodina" is completed. The goal of the project was to raise awareness about the prevention and early detection of malignant diseases, and to enable more successful treatment. In the course of 3 years, almost 40 workshops were held in 30 settlements in Vojvodina. At the workshops, women were informed about the recognition of early symptoms and changes that point to the disease and to which special attention should be paid. Workshop participants are encouraged and motivated to take responsibility for their own health and undergo examinations. The workshops were led by the project coordinator, B.Sc. psychologist with doctors, specialists from various fields of medicine important for prevention. A total of 380 women participated in the workshops. As part of the project, a brochure on prevention was also printed. All 500 copies were distributed to women throughout Vojvodina.
