Gülcan Güzel

Gülcan Güzel volunteers at EHO as an Education Assistant for children from vulnerable contexts in Serbia as part of the European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Program under the European Solidarity Program.
Gülcan holds a double degree in Social Work and Economics and is an experienced Social Worker specializing in refugee and migration issues, social cohesion, human rights, child protection, gender-based violence (GBV) and social services for the elderly.
Previously, Gülcan worked as a Child Protection Specialist at UNICEF Turkey project and actively participated in the emergency response following the 2023 Turkey-Northern Syria earthquake and facilitated access to basic services for affected communities.Following the war crisis in Syria, she worked extensively with displaced communities, with a particular focus on child and women protection cases. She further strengthened her expertise in emergency response by completing the Sphere Standards Train the Trainer Training.During the COVID-19 pandemic, she provided social services for elderly individuals in nursing homes and intensive care facilities.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling and participating in artistic activities.
