A Visit to schools where Additional support for children's education is provided

The Support for the education of children from families of lower socioeconomic status has been provided for five years in the elementary school "Radoje Domanović" in Bošnjace (Lebane municipality), one of the nine schools that are part of the project "Support for education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia". The project is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the financial support of the German organization Brot für die Welt, and aims to improve the chances and success in education of children from underprivileged families and those belonging to particularly vulnerable categories such as Roma or children with developmental disabilities and / or handicaps.
During the visit to the school, the project team talked to the school principal, the teaching staff in charge of the implementation of the project support for children and with the students who are direct beneficiaries of the project. The team realized monitoring of project activities, exchange of experiences and lessons learned in the previous period, and recommendations for work in the period ahead were given.
The field visit was also used to talk to a local associate in charge of the project in the elementary school "Despot Stefan" in Gornji Stepoš (in the Municipality of Kruševac) and a team member in charge of the workshops for children and their parents.
