Realization of the 2nd regional training under the mentorship of ADRA Slovakia

EHO and the visiting mentor and partner ADRA Slovakia realized a two-day training within the project "Strengthening the capacity of humanitarian organizations for the reception and guidance of volunteers from the EU". The meeting was also attended by partners from Serbia: Charitable Foundation of the Serbian Orthodox Church „Philanthropy“and MHD „Merhamet – Sandžak“ of the Novi Pazar.

The goal of the visit was the realization of a five-day training.

The first part of the training included topics related to the management of project activities, then the process of monitoring project activities and evaluating them.

The second part of the training covered the topic of identifying the areas of each of the present organizations identified as those in which it is necessary to include foreign volunteers. The focus of the aforementioned was the development of tools to enable each organization for a clear and precise making of the volunteer profiles and thus further implement the program for guiding volunteers from EU countries, which is the bulk of project activities. From the viewpoint of general project goal, it to empower project participants to develop their own organizational profile related with volunteer involvement, and to further strengthen the capacity of employees to receive and guide volunteers from EU countries.

In addition to the above activities, the partner organizations presented their concept of volunteer work organization, shared experiences in working with volunteers and shared lessons learned and experience gained within the project.

Beside the mentioned partners, the project involved the following stakeholders: Asociacion CDRO (De Cooperacion para el desarrollo rural de occidente)/ Gvatemala, Asociación de Servicios Educativos y Culturales/ Guatemala, Asociación Jesús Obrero/ Peru, Fundacion Alboan/ Estonia, Servicio Jesuita a Refugiados – Colombia/Columbia, Girl Child Network/ Kenya, Medicus Mundi – Italy, Servizio Volontario internazionale/ Italy, The Ethiopian Catholic Church Social and Development Commission/ Ethiopia, ASPEm/ Italy.

The funds to realize our project activities are covered from the EU funds, within the EU Aid Volunteers program.
