EU Standardized Volunteer Capacity Building Training Held
20. Dec 2021.
During the past week, a training was held on the topic: Volunteer management with a focus on strengthening the volunteer structure and with the further goal of improving inclusive activities in direct work with vulnerable groups. The implementers of the mentioned activity were the trainers of the creative gathering organization (OKO) from Belgrade. Within the three-day work, the topics covered during the training were aimed at looking at youth work and youth work activities in working with vulnerable groups through the prism of the European Charter on Volunteerism. In addition to the above, volunteer work was considered from the aspect of needs, values and motivations in volunteering, then the inclusive and social model of volunteering, and the conflict in volunteer management. Participants in the training are volunteers that EHO includes in various project activities. Within the above project, EHO received a certificate in 2021 for the program of receiving and guiding volunteers from the EU, and within the EU Aid Volunteer program. In addition to working with foreign EHO, it nurtures work with local volunteers, and in that sense, by organizing various trainings, it strengthens the capacities of volunteers and provides them with the opportunity for personal and professional development.
The training was organized within the project "Capacity Building - Exchange of Good Practices and Cooperation in HUmanitarian Action to Generate Engagement", realized by the EHO in partnership with the Charitable Foundation of the Serbian Orthodox Church „Philanthropy“and MHD „Merhamet – Sandžak“ of the Novi Pazar, and in mentorship of the ADRA Slovakia.
