Prior to International Education Day, observed on January 24, the educator engaged in the project Empowerment of Refugee Women and Children, realized various educational activities with children at the Reception Center Sombor.  The first part of the activity covered topics of the importance of education, continuous learning and improvement during life. The children were shown how learning can impact development of many skills, abilities, possibilities and contribute to personal formation. A test of previous knowledge was organized through questions from different fields, mathematical tasks and spelling exercises for children in the second part of the activity. As a particularly important area for the children, they emphasized the importance of knowing different languages ​​and communication skills because of their current situation.

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization is implementing the project "Empowerment of Refugee Women and Children" with the support of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).
