During the past week, the Head of the UNHCR Representation, Francesca Bonelli, together with her team, visited the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization. On that occasion, UNHCR representatives became better acquainted with our multifaceted work, with a focus on support to vulnerable groups, children, young families from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and refugees provided through various projects. Namely, as EHO has been providing support to refugees accommodated in Refugee Centers in the Republic of Serbia since the beginning of the migrant crisis, further plans for the work PCs in Šid and Sombor were discussed including possibilities for future cooperation. A special attention and importance in these talks was given to our direct field support that the EHO educators provide continuously.

Within the project "Empowerment of Refugee Women and Children", realized by EHO with the support of ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America), educators provide direct support on a daily basis to women and children by organizing creative and educational workshops. The EHO team supports other associates and organizations that conduct their activities online. The mentioned way of working shall remain our main direction in support to the mentioned target group.
