Whether you have not volunteered so far or have many years of volunteer experience, whether you have already dealt in some way with topics related to migrants or they are completely new to you, but you recognize them as important - we believe that EHO is a place for you! Our team is ready to receive 15 new motivated and dedicated volunteers who want to be part of the change in society.

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) is announcing a call for volunteers to participate in the project "Support in Protection and Humanitarian Aid to People on the Move".

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization is one of the leading civil society organizations in Serbia, which through practical activities contributes to building a just society in which differences are respected. EHO target groups are vulnerable and marginalized groups whose human rights have been violated and / or discriminated against.

The goal of the project "Support in protection and humanitarian assistance to people on the move" is to contribute to reducing the vulnerability of migrants in reception, asylum and transition centers in Serbia through direct humanitarian aid and providing access to psychosocial support by organizing occupation workshops in reception centers.

Place of work: Reception centers for migrants in Sombor, Subotica and Šid

Required number of volunteers: 15 volunteers (5 volunteers from local communities: Sombor, Subotica and Sid)

Time frame: April - December 2022.

Your engagement includes:

•     Providing support during the activities of distributing cash cards in these centers
•     Providing support during the activity of distributing hygiene packages
•     Support during the organization and implementation of occupation workshops (music, visual arts, sports, film, handicrafts)

What we expect from you:

•     Volunteering about 4 hours per week
•     Active participation in the planning and implementation of activities
•     Behavior and performance of tasks in a non-discriminatory spirit
•     Innovative and proactive approach

What awaits you:

•     Preparatory three-day training in the areas covered by the project to improve your knowledge and skills in order to better perform your volunteer tasks, but also future activities and responsibilities. The training will be held in the first week of April, and participation is mandatory.
•     Participate in workshops on making short films where you will have the opportunity to make your first film!
•     Voluntary feeand reimbursement of travel expenses
•     An opportunity to realize your ideas in order to improve the community

If you are:

•     Young people under 27 who come from Sombor, Subotica and Šid
•     Motivated and sensitized to work with migrants
•     Open to working with people from different cultures
•     Able to actively contribute to the work and collegiality within the team
•     Basic English language skills
•     You have experience on similar projects (optional)
