Training held on "Support in working with people on the move"

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, as part of the project "Humanitarian Assistance and Protection Related Interventions to People on the Move in Serbia", implemented a three-day training from September 9-11, 2022 in Sremski Karlovci for workers and volunteers engaged in reception centers who are in direct contact and work with the migrant population (social workers, pedagogues, educators and other professional associates who provide psycho-social and integration help and support) as well as for persons interested in working with the migrant population.
During the training, the following topics were covered: Who stays in asylum centers and reception centers in Serbia? Vulnerable groups in reception centers in Serbia, Principles in humanitarian work (CORE standards) and their application, What is psychological first aid? What symptoms require psychological first aid? Steps in providing psychological first aid and Relation with local communities and perspectives of integration and inclusion
The training was aimed at helping the engaged workers in the reception centers to be better prepared to respond to the specific needs of migrants and/or minors/unaccompanied children on the move.
The training was carried out in the premises of the Ecological Center "Radulovački". The training was conducted by Franceska Fornari and Slavica Ranisavljev Kovačev.
