The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in 1996, November 16 was declared the International Day of Tolerance. Every year on this day, we are reminded that tolerance can ensure the survival of mixed communities in every region of the globe.

International Children's Day is celebrated on November 20, and was established by the UN General Assembly in 1954. This day is designed to promote mutual interaction and understanding among children, as well as the well-being of children around the world.

On this occasion, several organizations, including EHO, through the project "Empowering refugee women and children", in cooperation with local schools, organized a series of events during the past week. Forums of school parliaments, sports competitions, promotions, art and literary contests, as well as an event in the Cultural Center were held. Children staying at the Šid Reception Center are also included in all the above activities.

The project "Empowering Refugee Women and Children" is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).
