A visit to schools involved in the EHO project "Support to the education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia"

Baranda / Osnovna škola „Zoran Petrović“

25. Nov 2022.

Support for the education of children from families of lower socioeconomic status has been successfully provided for the sixth year in the primary school "Zoran Petrović" in Sakule, while from this year the project is also implemented in the primary schools "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj" in Aleksinački Rudnik and "Vuk Karadžić" in Vranje. These three schools, out of a total of 14, are part of the project "Support for the education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia" which the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization is implementing with the financial support of the German organization Brot für die Welt. The goal of the project is to improve the chances and success in education of socially disadvantaged children and those who belong to particularly vulnerable categories such as members of the Roma minority or children with disabilities and/or developmental disabilities.

During the visit to the schools, the project team spoke with school principals, teaching staff and professional assistants in charge of the realization of certain project activities, local assistants and students who received project support. Project activities were monitored and experiences and lessons learned were exchanged.
