Ecumenical humanitarian organization - EHO, together with partner organizations from Evangelische Jugend Dortmund, Lünen and Selm, participated in the sixteenth consecutive youth exchange of young people from Novi Sad and Dortmund.

This year's exchange was realized in the period from March 30 to April 8, 2023, in the sister city of Dortmund, but also in Berlin and Lunen on the topics of "Diversity and Reconciliation", with the aim of promoting intercultural learning, reconciliation and respect for diversity, European citizenship and exchange of opinions and attitudes of young people about the importance of strengthening the participation of citizens in the life of the local community and the contribution of reconciliation among young people.

The exchange program included educational workshops as well as visits to cultural institutions, historical museums and civil society organizations aimed at preserving the values of peace, tolerance and dialogue among young people, promoting cultural differences and dealing with the past.

As part of the exchange, a meeting was organized with the member of the Dortmund City Council, Norbet Damen, where the young people had the opportunity to discuss youth policy and the cooperation of young people from twin cities.

Also, the young people had the opportunity to spend three days in the camp at Lake Canow, where they learned how to manage conflicts and challenging situations in everyday communication. Volunteers contributed to setting up tents and preparing the camp for the next groups of young people who will be part of the educational contents and programs.

The program was attended by young volunteers who are involved in various programs of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization and volunteers from partner organizations from Lünen and Dortmund, aged 16 to 19.

We would like to remind you that the first youth exchange between Dortmund and Novi Sad was held back in 2008.

The next youth exchange program will be held in Novi Sad in 2024, when young people from Dormund will have the opportunity to visit the sister city of Novi Sad.
