International Day of Children Involved in Living and Working on the Streets celebrated by EHO
12. Apr 2023.
In more than 130 countries around the world, April 12 is celebrated as the International Day of Children Involved in Living and Working on the Streets. On the occasion of marking this important date, various activities were organized which were realized through the project "Support for children who are at risk of being involved in life and/or work on the street". The children had the opportunity to enjoy the play "Brave Horse" which took place in the Shelter for Children and Youth in Novi Sad. Also, the animators, who sent a strong message that every child is equally important, entertained the children at the "Veljko Petrović" Elementary School in Begeč, and art workshops were organized at the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, where the children showed their outstanding talents. All children had the opportunity to learn through interactive workshops that taking care of each other can contribute to carefree and happy growing up. The aim of the implemented activities is to provide support to children and young people, in order to reduce the number of those who see the street as the main factor of identification. The activity that will be implemented in the coming period, and contributes significantly to the aforementioned goal, is support for the enrollment of children in the 1st grade.
The project "Field work with children who are involved in life and/or work on the street" has been supported by H. Stepic CEE Charity since 2009.
