1st June - International Children's Day
01. Jun 2023.
International Children's Day, which is celebrated on June 1, worldwide, was proclaimed in 1925 in Geneva, at the first World Conference on the Welfare of Children, and was officially adopted by the international community in 1950. On this day, we are reminded that all those who work with children are obliged to contribute to their best interests and to enable children's participation in society. As part of the project "Support for children who are at risk of being involved in life and/or work on the street", the implementation of sports workshops continued. Sports workshops have been held for 5 years in a row, and are based on fostering team spirit, with mutual respect for all participants as a basic value. On the occasion of the mentioned date, a workshop was held on the topic: "Our rights and responsibilities". Within the given topic, responsibility towards oneself, others and society was discussed. After the talk, a friendly match was held.
The project "Support for children who are at risk of being involved in life and/or work on the street" is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of the H. Stepic Foundation from Vienna.
