"Living Library" held in Subotica
02. Jun 2023.
A Living Library - a method that changes the perception of readers. Have you ever heard of the Living Library method, where instead of shelves with books, real people sit and tell their life stories? Do you know why this method is so effective in building communities and society? Because a letter on paper hardly arouses an emotion in the reader and there is no interaction between the writer and the readers. That is why we organize Living Libraries.
As part of the project "We see it this way – Re-framing narratives about migration", Living Library was organized for students of the third year of the communication department of the Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty in Subotica. Living books were people from the Subotica Reception Center, humanitarians and people who already have asylum in Serbia. Their stories, written by students, will soon be published in a trilingual publication.
The project is implemented in partnership with the Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty in Subotica, and in cooperation with the IOM, with the support of Switzerland.
