International conference "Days of Social Protection" in Novi Sad on Violence - causes, measures and interventions

Our colleague Tijana Čeliković, EHO project coordinator, participated in the work of the second day of the conference during the panel - Children and young perpetrators of crimes with elements of violence. The system's response to where we were, where we are now and where we want to be in the protection of juvenile perpetrators of criminal and misdemeanor offenses, with her presentation on the topic: Personality of juveniles and factors that influence the occurrence of juvenile delinquency .
In her presentation, Tijana pointed out the importance of analyzing the personality of minors from the point of view of those social sciences that deal with defining personality and its characteristics, while respecting the personality of minors in the context of criminal substantive and procedural law, as well as the analysis of social factors that influence the occurrence of juvenile delinquency.
A minor is any person who has reached the age of fourteen at the time of the commission of the illegal act, but has not reached the age of eighteen. As a special, specific person, a minor is between the category of children and young people, and since they are immature and unconscious persons, but capable of understanding the consequences of their actions, these persons have a good chance of returning to a socially acceptable path, if we approach them in a sensitive way. a way respecting their vulnerability, but also all the factors and their strength to which they were exposed, which may have led them to the path of criminality, antisocial, illegal, deviant behavior.
