Financial assistance from the ACT donation for 150 flooded families from the territory of the Municipality of Trstenik

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization collected donations with a value of about 3.3 million dinars in cooperation with the charitable foundation of the Serbian Orthodox Church "Philantrophy", with the support of its partners from the international organization "ACT Alliance" based in Geneva. The multi-functional financial aid is intended for 150 families from the territory of the Municipality of Trstenik, whose households suffered material damage during the floods in June of this year.
We firstly responded to the call of the Philantrophy and Municipality of Trstenik, got acquainted with the situation after the floods and saw the catastrophic damage caused to certain households, and collected funds with the help of our domestic and international partners. In coordination with the competent services of the Municipality of Trstenik, a selection of candidate households was made in July 2023. The distribution of a total of 150 cash cards, i.e. DINACARD gift cards of Poštanska štedionica with a value of around 190 euros, was organized on August 9, 2023. The beneficiaries of this aid will be able to buy necessary items for recovery from the consequences of the flood.
In addition to this donation, households that suffered damage in the floods and reported the damage to the competent services of the Municipality of Trstenik, also receive assistance from the Republic of Serbia, based on the decision of the Government of Serbia on assistance to the flooded population.
