Communication and inclusive school culture: Supporting the education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia

Development of cultural competences and competences for democratic culture were topics discussed during two days of meeting with local educational coordinators, field associates, implementors of the EHO project "Support to the education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia" in their communities.

The trainings were held on November 14 and 15 in the premises of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, and their purpose was to further strengthen the capacities of associates for daily work in schools.

Mr. Ivan Idris of the Center for Crisis Policy and Response spoke about the skills for successfully interacting and communicating with people from different cultures, and psychologist Margarita Berček from the "Zdravko Gložanski" elementary school in Bečej gave a training on building a democratic and inclusive school culture. .

The project is implemented in 14 local communities throughout Serbia with the aim of helping to improve the chances and success in education of children and youth from families of lower socioeconomic status and those who belong to particularly vulnerable categories.

For the seventh year, the project has been implemented with the financial support of the German organization Brot für die Welt.
