Particiaption and inclusion of children in schools
01. Mar 2024.
Participation in school (especially children) and the scale of participation were the topics of the first day of the meeting with local educational coordinators from 14 primary schools engaged in the project "Support to the education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia". The training was given by Margarita Berček, a psychologist from the elementary school "Zdravko Gložanski" from Bečej. Considering the complexity of the topic, it was agreed with the participants that at the next meeting this topic will be further processed through workshop work. Further into the subject of participation, on the second day there were talks about the inclusion of children with developmental disabilities in schools. Đurđa Lili Horvat, a professional employee of the child's personal companion service from Temerin, discussed this important topic with the coordinators. The purpose of these meetings is to exchange experiences and further strengthen the capacities of our collaborators in their work on the project, but also in their work with other children in the schools where they are engaged.
The goal of the project, which EHO has been implementing for the sixth year, is to improve the chances and success in education of socially deprived children and young people (children and young people from poor families and those who belong to particularly vulnerable categories such as members of the Roma minority or children and young people with disabilities and/or with developmental disabilities). The activities are carried out with the financial support of our German partner Brot für die Welt.
