Beginning with April 2024, sports activities workshops were started with kids from this target group from the KIRS reception center Bujanovac, with the permission and cooperation of the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, the permission of the parents of accompanied minors, and realized by EHO project assistant(s) and coaches from youth sports clubs from Bujanovac FK BSK (soccer) and Play017 (basketball).

Namely, the project "Empowering refugee women and children" has been implemented since 2020 with the support of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). Through project activities, support is provided to refugee women, children and unaccompanied minors in order to overcome obstacles for their integration or active participation in society, and also as a developmental and creative organization of their free time, in addition to existing forms of assistance to this target group. In this direction, the Sports Activities workshops aim to keep these children and young people off the streets and provide them a safer alternative for growing up.

In addition to sports activities with this part of the refugee target population in Bujanovac, sports workshops are planned for June 2024 at the Šid Reception Center with the unaccompanied minors.
