New tools, new beginning

21. May 2024.

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization recently supported three beneficiaries in the project "Education and Economic Empowerment of Marginalized Groups" by purchasing tools and equipment for work. This project is realized with the support of Brot für die Welt and Diakonie Württemberg / Hoffnung für Osteuropa from Germany.

Stevanka Aleksandrović from Čurug is one of the beneficiaries who received support through this project. Stevanka has been producing and selling cakes for years, and the new tool she received will enable her to further improve her business. This tool contributes to the development of its range of services, allowing it to expand its offer and improve the quality of its products. Stevanka hopes that the new equipment will bring her more orders.

Boban Jung from Novi Bečej is a welder with many years of experience, who also received support in the form of a new tool. After several years of work in this industry, Boban now has the opportunity to independently develop his own business with his own tools. The new equipment will enable him to take on more demanding jobs, thus increasing his efficiency and quality of work. Boban hopes that this support will provide him with stable and daily income.

Nikola Vasić from Đurđevo, who maintains green areas, has his own tool for the first time thanks to this project. Until now, he had to rent tools from others, which often made his work difficult and reduced his income. Now, with his own equipment, Nikola can perform his duties more efficiently, thus increasing his income and ensuring better economic stability for himself and his family.

This EHO project shows the importance of support with adequate tools and equipment for work in enabling persons from marginalized groups to achieve economic independence and improve their living standard. The user support package includes training on creating a business plan, procurement of equipment and tools for the best business ideas, and mentorship and support.
