International Children's Day celebrated in Begeč

04. Jun 2024.

The International Children's Day, celebrated all over the world on June 1, was celebrated this year in Begeč with a festive performance at the elementary school "Veljko Petrović". This day, established in 1925 at the first World Conference on Child Welfare in Geneva, and officially recognized by the international community in 1950, emphasizes the importance of children’s protection and support in all aspects of their lives.

As part of the project "Support for children who are at risk of being involved in life and/or work on the street", which is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of the H. Stepic Foundation from Vienna, children in Begeč had the opportunity to enjoy a play called "Sleeping Beauty".

This event is part of a multi-year project that aims to support children at risk and help them integrate into society in a positive way. The project not only promotes support during schooling, physical activity and team spirit, but also education about rights and responsibilities, thus providing children with comprehensive support in their development.

The celebration of International Children's Day in Begeč ended with a joyful meeting with actresses from the theater "Teatrilo" from Novi Sad.
