The Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Tomislav Žigmanov, visited the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization

During yesterday's visit to the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, the Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Tomislav Žigmanov, had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the work of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, current projects and activities, a significant part of which relates to the inclusion of Roma.

In a conversation with Minister Žigmanov, EHO Director Anna Brtka-Valent had the opportunity to present the organization's key programs and capacities.

Brtka-Valent spoke about the current programs, emphasizing the engagement and dedication of the EHO team in achieving program goals.

A special focus is placed on self-initiated programs implemented by the EHO which show flexibility and ability to adapt to the needs of the community. One of those initiatives is the formation of an activist team of Ambassadors of Anti-Gypsyism, as one of the activities of the project "Social inclusion of Roma and other vulnerable persons in Serbia 2023-2026".

The potential of the organization was presented to Minister Žigmanov, including the professional team, partnership relations and effective program implementation strategies, as well as the method of financing and co-financing.

EHO also transparently presented its weaknesses, but emphasized that they do not slow them down in achieving the organization's mission. This openness to one's own challenges shows commitment to continuous improvement of work and achieving the greatest possible social impact.

Minister Žigmanov expressed his satisfaction with the work of EHO so far, stressing the importance of their contribution in the promotion of human rights and social inclusion. He also promised the support of the Ministry in the further development and strengthening of the capacity of the organization in order to achieve the best possible results in the field of human rights and social dialogue.

This visit represents an important step towards strengthening cooperation between state institutions and civil society in achieving common goals of sustainable development and the improvement of human rights.
