17. Jun 2024.

On Wednesday 12.06.2024. the premiere performance of the monodrama "Alone", played by Aleksandra Milojković Novikova, was held at the Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad.

The play is supported through the projects: "Social inclusion for a dignified life of Roma and other vulnerable persons in Serbia" implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization Novi Sad and "Strengthening of national and local systems to support the effective socio-economic integration of returnees in the Western Balkans" implemented by the United Nations Program nation in Serbia (UNDP) and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia. Support for the organization of the performance of this play is provided by the Office for Roma Inclusion of AP Vojvodina.

Through the performance of this drama, the emphasis is on pointing out the obstacles that the Roma community faces, as well as the stereotypes and discrimination that they struggle with every day.

The performance touched the audience and stimulated an important dialogue about the need for equal rights and wider acceptance of diversity.

The performance was attended by the Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Tomislav Žigmanov, who supported this important step towards better understanding and inclusion of marginalized communities.

Our goal is to get to know the life of our Roma fellow citizens better through theatrical art and to remind ourselves of the challenges they face, so that through art they can contribute to the creation of a social community that understands them and is more tolerant towards Roma and other sensitive groups.
