Youth exchange Novi Sad - Dortmund 2024

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization - EHO, together with partner organizations from Evangelische Jugend Dortmund, Lünen and Ev. Noah Kirchgemeinde Dortmund from Germany, organized a youth exchange on the topic "Volunteering and youth activism" In the period 7-15 July 2024.
This year's exchange is the seventeenth in a series of meetings of young people from the twin cities of Novi Sad and Dortmund, with the aim of promoting volunteerism, youth activism and exchanging opinions on the importance of active participation of young people in the life of the local community.
The exchange program included educational workshops on the importance of volunteering and activism, as well as visits to institutions and civil society organizations that promote these values.
A reception was organized for the participants in the Town Hall, where they were addressed by the assistant mayor of Novi Sad, Aleksandar Petrović. The participants were presented with the way the City of Novi Sad works in different areas, as well as activities within the framework of international cooperation between the sister cities of Novi Sad and Dortmund.
They also visited the Office for Roma Inclusion of AP Vojvodina, in front of which Ljiljana Mihajlović, director of the office, addressed the participants. On that occasion, the ambassadors of antigypsyism introduced themselves to the youth from Dortmund and introduced them to their activist work.
During the visit, the participants had the opportunity to develop skills, acquire new knowledge and exchange experiences through visits to the OPENS Youth Center, Novi Sad Voluntary Service, American Corner, Infopolis, CK 13.
They also visited numerous cultural facilities offered by Novi Sad, the Petrovaradin Fortress, the City Museum and the Evangelical Church.
The program was attended by 8 young volunteers who are involved in various program contents of the work of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization and 10 volunteers from Evangelisch Jugend Dortmund und Lünen and Ev. Noah Kirchgemeinde Dortmund, Germany.
The next youth exchange is planned for 2025 in the sister city of Dortmund.
