EHO presence at the European Second World War Roma Suffering Remembrance Day Memorial in Belgrade

Today 02.08.2024. the day of commemoration of the suffering of Roma during the Second World War is marked. The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization attended today's commemoration, which took place in Belgrade in the Topovska šuma Memorial. The commemoration was attended by numerous officials, representatives of civil society, as well as members of the Roma community who laid wreaths in memory of the victims.
The public adresses of attending dignitaries highlighted the importance of this day as an opportunity to remember the terrible crimes that the Roma have suffered and to ensure that such events never happen again. Remembering the victims is our moral obligation and the only way to build a fairer society.
This ceremony is another reminder of the need to constantly raise awareness about the importance of tolerance, mutual respect and the joint fight against all forms of discrimination.
