A training on Gender Based Violence

29. Jun 2021.

Acquiring basic knowledge on gender-based violence, on contribution of churches in suppression and reduction, and on providing support to those affected by this issue, were the goals of the training held in three modules during June for people active in church life. The trainer, Ankica Dragin, was discussed with the participants, the topics of the relationship between gender and gender, violence as the most extreme form of human rights violations and ways of reacting to gender-based violence and its prevention, among other matters. The training was held online, except for the last day when it was organized in the premises of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, during which the participants were awarded certificates of attendance.

The training on gender-based violence is a part of the project "Towards Gender Justice in Serbia - Young and Older Women Together" implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization as part of the ACT Alliance - Gender Justice Program 2020. The project is implemented in partnership with Philanthrophy, the Charitable Foundation of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
