International Day of Persons with Disabilities

08. Dec 2021.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated around the world for 29 years with the purpose of highlihting the need for their inclusion in all social spheres - social, educational, cultural and others.

The day of 3rd December is an opportunity to remind the wider community that we respect the differences and peculiarities of people with disabilities, to remove possible prejudices and stigmatization and to open the way for a more comprehensive inclusion in all social contexts.

To this purpose, Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization provides the following services in the municipality of Raska: counseling, therapy and social education for children and adults with different types and degrees of disability. These services are aimed to help and support children and adults with disabilities through various types of therapy in order to reach the maximum of their biologically given potentials, improve their abilities or maintain them at the optimal level necessary for independent daily functioning.

This is the mission of a team consisting of a speech pathologist, speech therapist, physiotherapist, caregiver, nurse and psychologist. Our beneficiaries have available the van transport, where their companions take care for their safety.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, our beneficiaries, in accordance with their abilities, showed in various ways what they have achieved and mastered.
