Intercultural project "See, participate, come, create - the pinnacle of your work is socializing" at the Elementary School "Vojvoda Putnik" in Ripanj

23. Aug 2024.

Elementary school "Vojvoda Putnik" in Ripnje proudly develops an innovative intercultural project dedicated to the development of small entrepreneurship through creative activities, the realization of which is supported through the project of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, "Social inclusion for a dignified life of Roma and other vulnerable people in the Republic of Serbia 2023-2026".

The school project entitled "See, participate, come, create - the pinnacle of your work is socializing" offers a unique opportunity for pupils to engage in the production of scented soaps, candles and decorative items using the decoupage technique.

One of the main goals of the project is to involve students in activities that will inspire and motivate them to continue their education and reduce the risk of dropping out of the school system. Through hands-on workshops, students have the opportunity to explore their skills and talents, to encourage them to dedicate themselves to education and explore the opportunities that schooling provides.

In order to help the students as much as possible, the school has equipped a space for workshops for making candles, soaps and other decorative items, as well as an exhibition space with the resulting products that visitors can buy.

Through creative work, children gather, cooperate with each other, develop a sense of community and personal productivity. Entrepreneurship is developed as a free teaching activity, which helps the professional guidance of students.

Until now, school students have participated in numerous bazaars on the occasion of holidays such as New Year, Easter and March 8. These events significantly increased the visibility of the product and enabled cooperation with other schools and the local community. The interest of schools in the surrounding area to visit candle and soap making workshops further expands the market for products created by students.

The students used the money from their previous earnings to go to the cinema, a trip to Avala, a visit to the museum, the purchase of the necessary school supplies, as well as the purchase of construction materials.

Elementary school "Vojvoda Putnik" in Ripnje continues to invest in the education of its students through such innovative projects, helping them to recognize and use their potential.

The project "Social inclusion for a dignified life of Roma and other vulnerable persons in the Republic of Serbia 2023-2026" is financed by HEKS EPER, Switzerland .
