Two years after the completion of the project through which 90 socially vulnerable households were connected to the water supply system and one year after the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Implementation of the Project of Social Inclusion of Roma and Other Sensitive Groups, a working meeting was held in the municipality of Kovin.

The meeting was attended by the president and representatives of the Municipality of Kovin and members of the project team of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization.

During the meeting, the results of the project "Social inclusion for a dignified life of Roma and other vulnerable persons in Serbia 2023-2026" were presented and a plan for future activities was drawn up.

The representatives of the municipality were presented with the stage of support for the legalization of residential buildings for 27 families in Bavanište, and further steps of support that should be provided by the competent municipal services were agreed upon. Activities in the area of ​​prevention of discrimination and gypsyism were discussed. Future activities were agreed upon and the text of the Anti-Discrimination Code for public servants was proposed. This code is another mechanism in the prevention and fight against discrimination.

The results of support in the field of education were also presented, which were achieved thanks to the excellent cooperation with the two elementary schools "Bora Radić" from Bavanište and "Miša Stojković Gaj" from Gaj.

As part of the project, a training session was held for the teaching staff "Social-emotional learning in children", school materials were distributed and an intercultural corner was equipped in the school in Bavanište.

It was agreed that the previous cooperation will continue. The representatives of the municipality want to continue providing technical support to the EHO project team in order to contribute together to improving the position of socially sensitive groups living in the territory of the municipality of Kovin.
