In the mid-September 2024, the team on the EHO project "Support for the education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia" visited the elementary schools "Dimitrije Tucović" in Kraljevo, "Milan Rakić" in Mionica and "Dimitrije Tucović" in Jabučje (Lajkovac municipality). The goal of this project is to improve the chances and success in education of children and youth from families of lower socio-economic status.

The school in Lajkovac is one of the five new schools that joined the project in 2022. During the visit to this school, the project team met with the local educational coordinator and part of the teaching staff and pedagogues who implement supplementary teaching activities and workshops for children and their parents. They discussed the current course of the project as well as perspectives, especially in the context of the next project cycle. The employees of the "Dimitrije Tucović" elementary school in Jabučje make numerous efforts to empower poor children in their educational process, and this project is additional support for those efforts.
