Roma organizations in EHO on a training for the empowerment of local communities

29. Oct 2024.

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) held the training "Project management, mapping and mobilization of resources in the local community" for 12 representatives of Roma organizations from different parts of Vojvodina, in its offices in Novi Sad, on October 14, 2024. The training was led by Milenko Anđelković, a long-time associate of EHO and an experienced trainer, who shared with the participants practical knowledge and strategies for successful management of local initiatives.

The training is part of the project "Strengthening of local Roma organizations", whose goal is to strengthen the capacities of small Roma associations throughout Vojvodina. Through theory and practical advice, participants received tools and inspiration to launch initiatives that will respond to the needs of the Roma community, from social and educational to cultural challenges. During the training, each participant shaped their project ideas into small initiatives and concrete local projects, and the six most successful initiatives will receive financial support in the amount of RSD 150,000 for implementation in their communities.

Funded by HfO - Hoffnung für Osteuropa Diakonia Württemberg from Germany, this project provides a boost to organizations working to improve the situation of the Roma community. The training is a key step in empowering participants to identify their community's priorities and design initiatives that will bring positive impact.
