The European network that brings together churches and peace church activists from various denominations "Church and Peace" organized a European conference called "Resisting War Today - Preparing Common Nonviolent Responses". The conference was held in Brussels, from October 24 to 27, 2024. As a basis for discussion and consideration in the panel and in the workshops, a verse from the Bible from the 2nd Book of Samuel 2, 26 was proposed, which reads "Will the sword kill forever?" Don't you understand that this will end bitterly?" The conference was attended by over 120 participants from all over Europe who gathered around the basic mission of this Christian network, which is the fight against militarization and the increasingly aggressive policies of European states, and the opportunities for Christians and Christian communities. to respond nonviolently to these challenges and resist wars. As Christians, we must as soon as possible organize and connect with peace organizations in Brussels that are dedicated to a Europe that is (was) based on peace and solidarity. Otherwise, we will soon realize "that all this can end bitterly".
