World Roma Language Day

05. Nov 2024.

The November 5 marks World Roma Language Day, a day dedicated to the preservation and promotion of one of the most important segments of Roma culture - the language that represents a pillar of Roma identity and history. The Roma language is recognized as one of the minority languages in many countries, but it still faces the challenges of preservation and transmission to future generations.

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization is working to reduce discrimination, so that this people's identity is not lost. This is an opportunity to emphasize the importance of protecting the Romani language, as well as the need for its greater presence in educational and cultural programs.

It is important that we support all initiatives that are significant for the preservation and promotion of the Romani language, in order to contribute together to strengthening the multiculturalism and linguistic diversity of our society.
