Razmena između škola, vršnjački edukatori U OŠ Vojvoda Putnik u Ripnju

12. Dec 2024.

A group of 24 peer educators against discrimination was organized within the project "Social Inclusion for a Dignified Life of Roma and Other Vulnerable Persons in the Republic of Serbia 2023-2026". This group of children from six primary schools, supported by pedagogical assistants and other teaching staff, has been involved in activities for the past two years.

In early December, as part of the exchange and learning from good examples activities during the previous period, EHO brought together peer educators against discrimination from four primary schools that are partners in the project. The host school was “Vojvoda Putnik” and hosted the peers in Ripanj. This exchange brought together students from the primary schools “Vojvoda Putnik” from Ripanj, “Bora Radić” from Bavanište, “Vuk Karadžić” from Niš and “Jovan Grčić Milenko” from Beočin.

The goal of the meeting was to exchange experiences and knowledge about discrimination and peer violence, with a special focus on weaker and vulnerable groups, through the application of the forum theater model.

Through forum theatre, students had the opportunity to express themselves creatively, taking on the roles of different actors in situations of discrimination and bullying. They shared experiences they had from their school environments, exchanging ideas on how to behave in moments when someone feels excluded or discriminated against. They also discussed ways in which they can promote positive values such as tolerance, respect and mutual understanding.

The exchange of experiences was not limited to education, but was also an opportunity for mutual socialization and development of social skills. Students connected, exchanged ideas and encouraged each other to continue working on inclusion in their schools and environment. The results of their work were recorded through video materials that EHO will share through its social networks and website in the coming period, as well as promote in the media as a contribution to building a more tolerant social environment.

The project is funded by HEKS EPER, Switzerland.
