19. Dec 2024.

On the occasion of the upcoming holidays, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, within the project "Social Inclusion for a Dignified Life of Roma and Other Vulnerable Persons in Serbia", organized a New Year's workshop and distribution of gifts for members of the Girls' Club at the "Karađorđe" Elementary School, in the regional department in Staro Selo, on December 13. As part of the project, seven Girls' Clubs were formed in the elementary schools included in the project. Girls' Clubs were formed with the aim of empowering girls to continue their education and personal development.

The New Year's workshop was visited by the President of the Municipality of Velika Plana, Strahinja Pavešković, who in his address expressed great satisfaction with the engagement of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization and the importance of joint cooperation. He invited the girls to visit the Municipality of Velika Plana, where they will have the opportunity to be guests of the President and learn about the work of the municipal services. The arrival of the President has a special significance for the girls, as it represents a strong message of support for their personal development and active inclusion in the community.

In addition to the president, the school director Aleksandar Skachkov and the project coordinator Slađana Jovanović also addressed the meeting, emphasizing the importance of the cooperation so far and the joint contribution in supporting the girls.

During the workshop, the girls enjoyed creative activities, making Christmas decorations from recycled materials and decorating gingerbread houses. All the works created during the workshop will be exhibited at the New Year's bazaar, which will bring together students, staff and parents, creating a special festive atmosphere and providing an opportunity for mutual connection and support.

The workshop ended with the distribution of New Year's gifts for the girls, as a thank you for their active participation in the activities of the Girls' Club.
