Distribution of School Bags and Supplies for Primary and Secondary School Children Completed

10. Sep 2024.
As part of the project "Support for Children Involved in Street Life and/or Work," the distribution of school bags and supplies in the substandard settlement of Adice has been successfully completed. In addition to children from Adice, support was provided to children from other settlements who requested assistance. A total of 165 school bags and 130 school supply packages were distributed, including pencil cases, writing tools, and notebooks, with the goal of easing the children’s start to the new school year and enabling them to enter the school year with joy.
The distribution of bags and supplies is part of the fourth phase of a support model for children transitioning from preschool to a school environment. This model consists of five phases: assistance with enrolling in the first grade, tracking the number of enrolled children, organizing educational workshops during the summer, and distributing school supplies. The fifth phase of the model takes place after the start of the school year, when volunteers support children with learning assistance during extended care programs.
The project, implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of H.Stepic CEE Charity, aims to reduce children’s dependence on the street and integrate them into regular educational and social activities.
