A supervision meeting on challenges of educating Persons with Disabilities

13. Feb 2025.

On Wednesday and Thursday, February 12th and 13th, a supervision meeting was held with associates engaged in the project "Support for the Education of Socially Deprived Children and Youth in Serbia". As in previous times, in addition to project issues and the exchange of experiences from the field, this meeting was also used to acquire new knowledge and further empower our associates.

On the first day of the meeting, the guest was Jelena Radović, president of the Citizens' Association "Sunce" for Children and Cerebral Palsy. In a conversation with our associates, she presented the challenges and obstacles she had on her path to education, and she also spoke about the education process from an activist perspective. The topic of education for persons with disabilities is important for our associates, since some of the children involved in the project activities come from this group.

At this meeting, some of our associates also presented examples of good project practice from their schools: Marija Simić, Kormoš Ferenc, Jelena Živković, Kristina Đurčianski and Ivana Osmanović spoke about the experiences from Knjaževac, Mali Iđoš, Šid, Selenča and Aleksinački Rudnici.

The project "Support for the education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia" is being implemented with the support of the German organization Brot für die Welt. The aim of the project is to improve the chances and success in education of children and youth from families with lower socio-economic status.
