Ms. Louise from Canada: volunteer with a mission of creativity

25. Feb 2025.
This year's cultural and creative workshops for seniors (organized by the EHO for a long time) were enriched thanks to Louise Roberts, a volunteer from Canada, who has been living in Serbia for eight years.
Volunteering has been a natural part of Ms. Roberts' life since her earliest years, as she learned in her family that each of us should have responsibility and contribute to the community in which we live. This value shaped her professional path, and in her native Kelowna, a Canadian city, she worked in government structures in the field of cooperation with non-governmental organizations and community development programs. Through volunteering, she also met her husband Dragan, who is today her support and partner in all volunteer activities, including work at our cultural and creative workshops.
After retirement, Luiz and Dragan decided to come to Serbia, where they continued their volunteer work, focusing primarily on people with disabilities in Sremski Karlovci, where they now live. Their cooperation with the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization began when Luiz, at one of the Novi Sad bazaars, discovered products from the EHO tailoring workshop and was introduced to our organization.
The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Roberts for selflessly sharing her time and talents with our seniors, helping them express their creative potential and imagination. Through her support, our seniors not only develop their artistic skills, but also strengthen their social connections and emotional well-being.
