27. Feb 2025.
The celebration of the "Mother Language Day", with a special emphasis on the Romani language, was held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the premises of the City Museum in Bačka Palanka. This event was also the final manifestation of the project "We Have Our Own Culture Too", which was implemented by the Citizens' Association "Čarain" from Tovariševo, with the support of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, through the program "Empowering Local Roma Organizations", funded by HfO (Hope for Eastern Europe) and Diakonie Württemberg from Germany.
The event brought together a large number of visitors, who enjoyed a rich cultural program dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Romani language, culture and tradition. A particularly emotional part of the program was a performance in Roma and Serbian languages, performed by children who attended educational workshops within the project. In addition to the performance, the audience had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Romani dance, dance and music, which delighted everyone present.
The packed hall of the City Museum was filled with positive energy, emotions and pride in the rich Roma cultural heritage.
