EHO Center hosted "Girls' Club" celebration of the International Women's Day

11. Mar 2025.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) organized a workshop for members of the "Girls' Club", which brings together girls, their mothers, grandmothers and sisters, and successful Roma women. The workshop, through which the members presented themselves "in a different way", is part of the activities within the framework of a three-year project aimed at supporting the education and empowerment of women and girls from the Roma community. On Saturday, March 8, young girls and women gathered in the premises of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization to share "their stories", experiences and advice, but also hugs, emotions, words of support and, above all, joy and pride in being women.

The participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and opinions on how and to what extent mothers, grandmothers and sisters are an important support and support for girls in their education and making important life decisions. The importance of learning and education as the foundation for building a better future, as well as the role of women in the family as the most important support for the younger generations, was emphasized.

The workshop was an opportunity to strengthen mutual support among the project participants, as well as to socialize with successful Roma women who shared their experiences and motivated young girls to continue their education and achieve their goals.

Through such activities, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization contributes to the empowerment of socially vulnerable communities, creating a safe and supportive environment for girls and women, and the “Girls' Club” continues to be a platform for inspiration and support for young Roma women who strive for education and equality.

The project is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
