13. Mar 2025.

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization and the Serbian association of ombudspersons organized a meeting of a group of ambassadors against discrimination and gypsyism with local ombudsmen in Smederevska Palanka on March 7. The goal was to introduce this group of activists and discuss the possibilities of joint action in the fight for equality and social justice.

The Ambassadors Group, formed in 2023 as part of the project "Social Inclusion for a Dignified Life of Roma and Other Vulnerable Groups in Serbia 2023-2026", brings together activists of various profiles who advocate for the rights of Roma and other marginalized communities. The importance of institutional support in cases of discrimination was emphasized, especially since the group members are not lawyers.

The representatiove ombudspersons presented their role and expressed their willingness to cooperate, recognizing the importance of joint action in the protection of human rights. This initiative represents a step towards a more inclusive society in which all citizens are equal. The project is funded by the Swiss organization HEKS/EPER .
